The HP Smart Tank 580 is a type of all-in-one printer which is also equipped with a flatbed scanner for scanning various documents.

Like other refillable ink printer products, the HP Smart Tank 580 stores ink for printing in 4 ink tanks.
Each of them is a black, cyan, magenta and yellow ink tank to produce CMYK color combinations which are commonly used in printing.
Because it uses an ink tank system instead of a conventional cartridge, HP Smart Tank 580 users can also refill printer ink themselves by purchasing refill ink bottles which are sold separately.

Filling is done by pouring ink from the bottle into the tank. The tip of the bottle and the mouth of the tank are designed in such a way as to make the process easier while preventing ink spills. The tank lid also has a rubber seal.

The HP GT53XL black ink bottle has a volume of 135 ml, while the four color ink bottles each have a volume of 50 ml.
The tank is made of transparent material so that its contents can be easily seen from the front of the printer to see how much ink is still there.
Apart from that, the HP Smart Tank 580 also has an attractive appearance with a white and gray design and is equipped with a sensor that will notify the user via notification in the HP Smart App if the ink is running low.
The HP Smart Tank 580 can indeed connect to the internet via Wi-Fi to connect to applications. Users can also print remotely from outside the home.

On the shoulder of the printer are a series of buttons and a small LCD screen for device control purposes, such as setting up a Wi-Fi connection.
Can print thousands of pages
In the Smart Tank 580 sales packaging, HP includes four bottles of black, cyan, magenta and yellow ink. The three color ink bottles (GT52) have a volume of 50 ml, while the black ink bottle (GT53XL) is larger with a volume of 135 ml.
Apart from the ink bottles, there are also two print heads (for black and color ink), a USB A to USB B cable for connection from the printer to the computer, a power cable, as well as a manual, as well as documentation for other things such as warranties.

The manual contains how to install the print head, fill ink, and operate the printer for the first time along with illustrations so it is easy to follow.

HP claims that this printer’s ink capacity can print up to 12,000 black and white pages or 6,000 color pages so it can serve large volume printing needs economically.
Moreover, the Smart Tank 580 has a duty cycle of up to 3,000 A4 pages per month (recommended volume is 400-800 pages per month).
The HP Smart Tank 580 can print various paper sizes and formats, namely A4, B5, A6, DL envelope, and legal. Borderless printing can be done up to A4 size.

The tray for placing paper is opened by pulling it from the back.
Meanwhile, the printing speed is 12 pages per minute for black (ISO, A4) and 5 pages per minute for color (ISO). Color printing can be done with a resolution of up to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi, while color is 4,800 x 1,200 dpi.
The flatbed scanner integrated in this all-in-one printer can be accessed by opening the cover at the top. The maximum scanning resolution reaches 1,200 dpi.

The HP Smart Tank 580 is marketed at a relatively affordable price in Indonesia according to its designation as a budget friendly printer, namely IDR 3,000,000. Banderol on the official HP Indonesia website even cheaper at IDR 2,375,000.
Besides that, price of refill ink also pocket friendly, IDR 91,000 per bottle for color ink (cyan, magenta and yellow) and IDR 103,000 for black ink.
