HP formalizes Reverb G2, a new virtual reality headset – News

Developed by HP in collaboration with Valve and Microsoft, the Reverb G2 is a new virtual reality headset that aims to combine comfort and extended compatibility.

The small world of virtual reality continues to turn: the proof with the HP Reverb G2, a new headset freshly introduced by HP and which claims to be the heir to the HP Reverb released just over a year ago.

Intended for use on a PC, the Reverb G2 displays a definition of 2160 x 2160 pixels per eye via 2.89 inch LCD panels with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, and has an immersive sound system developed in collaboration with Valve. HP has made sure to offer a fully adjustable headset with flexible materials to put user comfort at the heart of the experience.

The helmet has four cameras, which eliminates the need to use external sensors which are not always easy to install. The two controllers that accompany the helmet are also presented as smaller and ergonomic, again to promote immersion through more natural gestures. To connect it, it is in DisplayPort that it happens, with a single cable with a length of 6 meters.
