HP Doomsday 7 Years Again, Nokia Boss Reveals Its Replacement

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia Year 2030 or about seven more years is estimated to be the end of smartphone life. According to Nokia CEO, Pekka Lundmark, it is likely that the phone will be replaced by some other devices in the future.

Lundmark did not specify which device would replace HP. However, only mentioning that the replacement device is supported by super fast 6G connectivity.

“When [jaringan 6G] arrive, smartphone those that exist as of now will no longer be used,” he said, quoted from Mashable, Tuesday (21/2/2023).


Lundmark said the HP will likely be replaced by a chip embedded in the human body. These devices are also supported by simpler AR or VR technology.

The combination of the two technologies, according to him, makes the digital world and the physical world more similar to each other. Therefore, Lundmark argues that metaverse the last few years so new conversations can be optimized with the support of the 6G network.

The 5G network itself was only released a few years ago. Lundkmark estimates that 6G technology will only be available in 2030.

Even so, there have been many companies that have stolen the start first. Samsung is one of the parties that wants to master the 6G network.

The Galaxy mobile phone manufacturer has proposed starting a global study on frequency securing in future technologies. Launch Korea TimesSamsung hopes that through this study it can implement the technology in 2028.

“We have started our long journey to understand, develop, and standardize 6G communication technologies,” said Choi Sung-hyun, Executive Vice President and Head of Center for Advanced Communications Research at Samsung Research, in Samsung Electronics’ R&D Gub.
