HP 5G contributes 16 percent of the total sales of all mobile phones in Indonesia

Suara.com – Product Marketing Manager Samsung Electronics Indonesia, Ilham Indrawan, mentions mobile phones 5G accounted for 16 percent of the total smartphone sales in Indonesia during the second quarter (Q2) 2021.

“For now, 5G phones in Indonesia contribute 16 percent of total smartphone sales during Q2 2021. This figure has increased significantly from the same quarter last year,” Ilham said in a virtual press conference, Monday (25/10/2021).

He stated, this number indicates that 5G mobile phones are increasingly in demand by the Indonesian people. Ilham also believes that this number will continue to increase for the next few years.

“Maybe consumers already want to enjoy 5G,” added Ilham.

In addition, this increasing trend will also be supported by the role of mobile operators in providing 5G internet more broadly.

“The market potential for 5g mobile phones is very potential. From the data above, it’s a lot. Then from the network coverage, operators will continue to develop 5G more broadly,” he explained.

When compared to the previous two years, said Ilham, 5G cellphones in Indonesia are still limited in the flagship segment. But this year, Samsung has launched 5G phones at a more affordable price.

Ilham explained, during 2021 Samsung has issued many 5G phones, both in the flagship and entry-level to mid-range classes.

In the flagship segment, Samsung has launched 5G phones in the Galaxy S21 series (Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra) and foldable series (Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3) models.

Galaxy M52 5G.

“So in terms of products, our line-up is more complete. The Galaxy M52 5G is also the first Galaxy M series to break the egg to get 5G,” he said.

Furthermore, Ilham is committed that Samsung Indonesia will continue to listen to consumers’ voices regarding the needs of 5G mobile phones. They will also work with mobile operators to deliver 5G.
