The “Hozugawa Citizen Fireworks Festival” will be held on August 11 near the upper reaches of the Hozugawa River in Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture, by Japan’s leading pyrotechnicians. Approximately 10,000 fireworks will be set off for the first time in the history of the event, and to prevent congestion, “all areas will be charged”.
Due to the flood of spectators when the event was held in 2022, which caused confusion around JR Kameoka Station, etc., the free area was abolished this time. About 10 types of paid spectator seats (about 25,000 seats) will be set up to adjust the number of visitors, and a drone show will be held after the fireworks end to ease the concentration of spectators.
The paid spectator seats that will be prepared are the Royal Seats (15,000 yen per seat) near the launch area, the Hashigami Seats (6,000 yen per seat) where you can see the fireworks from the only bridge in Kansai, and the Sanga. “Stadium seats” (6,000 yen per seat) to be installed in the “Stadium” and “Standing seats” (4,000 yen per person) to be installed in the “Kamekita Sanga Square” are on standby.

This time around 10,000 fireworks will be set off with music under the theme of “Flame of Prayer, Light of Hope”. Launch time is 7:30pm to 8:30pm. A paid viewing ticket is required to use the stalls.
