Hoyerswerda. If the 25th Hoyschrecke song festival takes place this weekend, then with a special feature: the organization KulturFabrik e. V. organized an extra concert for the anniversary. It will be possible to live it on Saturday 26 November at 17 in the Open Space hall of the city center Braugasse 1. The formation “Mobiles Waldzitherpunk-Kommando mit Germanic-depressive frequencys” from Leipzig plays. Behind this cumbersome and bizarre term hide the singer-songwriter Peggy Luck (vocals, waldzither, guitar, mandolin), who already has Hoyschrecken experience, the Gesamtkunstwerk Jens-Paul Wollenberg (vocals, percussion), who was already one of the most important and representative nonconformists of the folk scene, as well as Hoyerswerda’s Helene Déus (vocals, flutes) and Toni Linke (vocals, violin, zither, guitar). The group has been playing together since last summer. Famous folk hits, own songs, songs by Brecht Eisler, instrumental pieces and others will be heard.
The song festival starts on Friday 25th November at 8pm with the stage open. One more entrant will be selected from the audience for Saturday night’s competing concert, which also starts at 8pm. Then a jury will also be involved in the evaluation.
Performers: Brückner & Fox (Bautzen), Sven Garrecht (Seligenstadt near Frankfurt am Main), Krazy (Cologne), Schauspielbrigade im Duo (Leipzig), Maria Schüritz (Leipzig), Torsten Torsten (Leipzig) and Anna-Maria Zinke (Halle / S.). Saturday evening will be moderated as usual by Petra Schwarz. At the end of the evening, the “Hoyschrecken” prizes for the public and the jury, worth 500 euros each, will be presented, this time in metallic green and designed for the first time by Andreas Niegel. Both evening concerts will be broadcast live on the internet radio “Radio Slubfurt”. In addition, a workshop with Manfred Maurenbrecher will take place on Saturday at 11 am, who will give a solo concert in the Café Auszeit from 3 pm and present his current program “Back to the Future”. The song festival ends on Sunday at 10 a.m. with a brunch and discussion round “Outlook 2023. The song festival is supported, as it has been almost constantly for 25 years, by Profolk eV, Gundermanns Seilschaft eV, Hoyerswerdaer Tageblatt and the Ostsächsische Sparkasse Dresden (red/JuM)
