The Met Gala returns to the first Monday in May.
The 2022 Met Gala will take place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 2. The star-studded event will celebrate the second part of the Costume Institute’s exhibition, “In America: An Anthology of Fashion.” The first part of the exhibit, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” opened in September 2021 after the Met Gala was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The second part of the exhibit opens at the Met on May 7 and will remain on view through September 5. to see what your favorite celebrities are wearing.
You can see the red carpet on E! starting at 6 p.m. Eastern Time

Starting at 6 p.m. ET, E! will feature “Queer Eye’s” Karamo Brown, celebrity stylist Brad Goreski and style correspondent Zanna Roberts Rassi reporting on what all the celebs are wearing. TV host Naz Pérez will also interview those famous faces on the steps of the Met until 9 pm ET.

In addition, from 6:00 p.m. ET, Vogue will have Vanessa Hudgens, La La Anthony and Vogue Editor-at-Large Hamish Bowles interviewing celebrities and giving viewers updates on the star-studded guest list. Vogue’s live stream will be available to view on its website, as well as the brand’s Instagram, Facebook and Twitter pages.
The dress code for this year’s event is ‘gold glamour’

As Insider’s Samantha Grindell reported, the dress code is “gold glamour, white tie,” meaning attendees are expected to wear looks that pay homage to New York’s Gilded Age (1870s to 1890s). According to Vogue, technological advances made it easier to buy clothes during this era, so the upper class had a more affluent approach to fashion.
Women, in particular, wore extravagant looks that included brightly colored outfits that were often paired with dramatic accessories. As Vogue reported, for formal events during the Gilded Age, women were required to wear cleavage-baring tulle gowns, fur-lined capes, and white gloves, while men had to wear top hats.
The second part of the gala also has a whole new set of celebrity co-chairs.

The official co-chairs for the evening will include Regina King, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Designer Tom Ford, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, will serve as honorary chairmen.
According to Footwear News, the guest list is expected to feature some high-profile guests. profile names including Kim Kardashian and Justin and Hailey Bieber. The number of guests for this year’s gala should be around 600 attendees, according to Vogue.
