With a positive view of life, getting older loses its horror: Author Susanne Ackstaller has invited women over their 50th birthday to tell their personal success story for “the best years”. Her book “To Life!” is full of good ideas and clever tips for a happy time.
Here is a selection:
- Surround yourself with positive thinking people.
- Take yourself seriously. We also need to take care of ourselves, not just others.
- What others think? Doesn’t matter! Follow your own compass.
- Stay curious and never stop wondering.
- Be tolerant of yourself and calm towards others. Be gentle with yourself.
- Live your dreams – if not now, then when? There is always someone who says “but”. Don’t listen.
- Do good without expecting anything in return. Knowing that the “recipient” will help someone else.
- Even if illnesses come: stop complaining. Because complaining doesn’t make anything better.
- Don’t let yourself get stressed. Think about what you want to spend time doing. Voluntary positions, hobbies or other “duties” – sort them out and hand them over to others.
- Say goodbye to perfectionism and enjoy your new serenity.
- For once, don’t really do anything. This is good for creativity.
- Have fun and laugh a lot. Meet old and new friends and acquaintances.
- Be grateful for what life offers you.
- Separate yourself from people who are not good for you.
