US President Joe Biden said today that he said a negotiated agreement would be needed to end the war in Ukraine, the Associated Press reported.
Asked whether Ukraine should cede part of its territory to Russia to end the war and establish peace in the region, Biden said his policy remains such that the United States will not make any decisions for Ukraine without Ukraine.
He said “this is their territory” and “I will not tell them what they should and should not do”.
But the US leader also said: “I think at some point a negotiated agreement will have to be reached.”
He added that he did not know what such an agreement would look like, but that the United States would continue to help Ukrainians defend themselves.
Biden said this in Delaware in connection with the 100th day since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the AP reported, BTA reports.
