“As part of the law on the return of illegally withdrawn assets, we recently created a special company, they will manage it, and if necessary, we will either give it to management or sell it and transfer the money to a special account. If these actions are not covered by this law, then there is a procedural solution. They transfer it to the state property and then we will also either sell it or put it in trust,” Zhamaubaev said on the sidelines of the Majilis on Wednesday, answering a corresponding question.
Let us remind you that Boranbaev was sentenced to eight years in prison on March 31. On September 14, the financial monitoring agency reported that Boranbayev returned assets worth T120 billion to the state. On September 15, the businessman’s prison term was reduced to six years in prison.
