Therefore, in December, Kazakhstanis will have an additional holiday only on Independence Day – December 16, 2024, which means:
- with a five-day work week – December 14, 15, 16, 2024 will be days off;
- with a six-day working week – December 14 is a working day, December 15 and 16 days off.
In addition, there are professional and other holidays in December. Regardless of working days and weekends, they are celebrated and those who participate in them are congratulated.
The list of professional holidays is published as amended by the acting order. Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the People of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 480 dated November 17, 2023, which came into force from the date of its first official publication:
- December 5 – Submission Day
- December 6 – Prosecutor’s Day
- December 15 (third Sunday of December) – Energy Engineer Day
- December 20 – Day of the State Courier Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan
- December 22 – Archivist’s Day
Also in December there are several international holidays under the auspices of the UN, which, if desired, Kazakhstanis can celebrate:
