“As long as we can manage on our own and rely on ourselves, maintain a dynamic flow of goods and services within the country, we will be invincible despite the storms around the world … no one can beat us or break us,” he said. the president in a speech on Jan. 11 to students at a school run by the Communist Party.

In his speech, the Chinese leader also pointed out how China has managed to control the coronavirus pandemic better than most other countries and how the country needs to find the right balance between opening up to the rest of the world, but also maintaining its self-sufficiency.

In a January speech, the president highlighted China’s strengths.

“Comparing the response of this pandemic to different leaders and political systems around the world, it is clear who has done better… Both the opportunities and the challenges before us are enormous and unprecedented, and generally speaking, our opportunities are greater than the challenges (before us), ”says Si.

The president also mentioned the “profound and unprecedented changes” the world is facing, noting that many of today’s events can be described as “upheavals”.

“It looks like this situation will continue for a while,” Si summed up.
