The head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the head of the presidential administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan discussed topical issues of cooperation
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic – Head of the Presidential Administration Akylbek Zhaparov, who is on a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, met with the head of the administration of the country’s leader Sardor Umurzakov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, and also “checked the clock” on the implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Kyrgyz Republic.
“I am convinced that the practical implementation of the voiced initiatives and agreements of the heads of our states will create a multiplier effect for the economic development of border areas, attract additional investment, strengthen transport accessibility, create new jobs and ultimately improve the living conditions of the population,” said Akylbek Zhaparov.
He also noted that over the 30-year period, a lot of work has been done between the two republics to expand and strengthen Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations in the spirit of brotherhood, mutual understanding and support.
In this context, the Prime Minister stressed that the economies of the two countries have sufficient potential to overcome the $2 billion mark in foreign trade in the near future.
“This goal can be achieved, among other things, by increasing mutual supplies of cement, coal, non-ferrous metals, agricultural and textile products, chemical fertilizers, household and commercial equipment, as well as pharmaceuticals,” he said.
In turn, Sardor Umurzakov expressed his readiness to make every effort to implement all existing agreements and projects.
