Large companies, from the automotive industry to the food or cosmetics industry, are making commitments in the direction of sustainability. But in the end, what is it, sustainability?

What sustainable means

According to the definition, sustainability is the ability of man to sustain a quality life in the long run, without depleting the natural resources available to the planet. Because, like it or not, they are limited, and we have a duty to make sure that future generations will benefit as well.

Our impact on the environment

Everything we do, everything we eat, the way we cook, drink or wash has an impact on the environment. CO2 emissions, waste of resources (for example, excessive consumption of tap water or animal products), waste and many other things that we are not fully aware of are irreparably affecting the planet.

From small to large, we write the story of sustainability together

It is always easier for us to get rid of guilt and hold others accountable for things that go wrong. Especially those who have decision-making power, large-scale business and a strong impact on the environment. But it is a harmful attitude, because, in reality, the change comes from each of us. Not only large companies, but also every person should aim for a sustainable lifestyle. The attitude of consumers and their choices make a difference and, no matter how much we deceive ourselves, they are not insignificant at all. So let’s recycle packaging, save water, avoid plastic, collect waste separately, reduce carbon emissions by buying hybrid or electric cars, and, last but not least, buy from companies that strive to protect the environment, all these are small steps beneficial for the environment!

Moving without pollution

Volkswagen is dedicated to a sustained and continuous effort for business and development sustainability. With a vision that encompasses innovation, artificial intelligence and sustainability, the car brand has invested in electromobility since 2015, thus starting a new era, with positive implications for society as a whole.

Rewriting the history of mobility

Volkswagen has rewritten the history of mobility through a series of sustainable initiatives, made for the first time in Romania by a car brand! From the first fast charging station in Romania, opened in 2015, from the largest private network of charging stations owned by an importer in the country, with investments of over 1 million euros, and up to a wide range of electric models, Volkswagen continues to take defining steps towards sustainability under the motto “Way to zero”, and is now launching the industry’s most ambitious decarbonisation and climate protection program, with the aim of achieving zero CO2 emissions by 2035.

By launching the ID. 3, Volkswagen marked a world premiere, being the first car designed from scratch, on a new platform, in order to run exclusively on batteries. Next to ID. 4, the first 100% electric SUV in the series, designated the car of the year 2021 internationally, has a production cycle neutral to carbon emissions. Porsche Romania’s current portfolio includes 10 electric models and 26 hybrids, and the beginning of this year came with figures we are proud of: over 30% of the electric cars registered in the first 6 months are Volkswagen brand models.

An electric premiere
