Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) guarantees authenticity Graduation from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). UGM has taken several ways to ensure the authenticity of Jokowi’s diploma, from checking the original document to comparing it with other alumni’s diplomas.
This was announced by the UGM Chancellor prof. Ova Emilia at a press conference answering the question of a lawsuit relating to the authenticity of Jokowi’s diploma. At this press conference, Ova was accompanied by UGM Faculty of Forestry Dean Sigit Sunarta, UGM Legal Expert Andi Sandi Antonius and UGM Vice Chancellor for Student and Alumni Affairs Arie Sujito.
Ova said that the authenticity of the diploma was verified by looking for the data in the documentation. Ova said Jokowi’s graduation was still well documented at UGM.

“We, UGM, the place where Ir Joko Widodo studied, convey that on the data we have and are well documented, we believe in the authenticity of Ir Joko Widodo’s diploma. The person concerned is a graduate of the UGM Forestry Faculty”, said UGM Chancellor Prof. dott. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG (K), Ph.D during a press conference, as reported by detikJateng, Tuesday (11/10/2022).
Additionally, UGM compared Jokowi’s diploma with other alumni’s diplomas. Certificates that are still handwritten are declared uniform to other alumni’s diplomas.
“We tried to look at the format of the diploma that Jokowi received with a classmate who graduated at the same time. There, the format is exactly the same, written in regular handwriting. As for the other faculties, it is not. I know of course, but the Faculty of Forestry is uniform, ”explained the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry UGM Sigit Sunarta.
