Miss America’s centennial year is about to change, at least the way viewers look at her.
According to USA Today, the contest will only be available to stream through Peacock. Peacock will present the event on December 16, 2021 at 8 p.m. ET.
In the past, the competition was generally broadcast via television during prime time.
While the streaming service may seem new to many, it’s actually run by well-known mass media company NBCUniversal.
Who won Miss America for 2020?
Former Miss Virginia defending champion Camille Schrier won Miss America 2020.
She was able to retain the title for an additional year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
On June 22, 2019, she was crowned Miss Virginia 2019.
The biochemist successfully defeated 50 women to win the 2020 Miss America crown.
This year’s competition is the 100th year that the event has taken place.

Where is the Miss America pageant taking place?
Miss America’s centennial will be held at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
