Following the year-defining highs of Succession and Barry, HBO, armed with its rebranded streaming platform, Max, has now launched its new project titled The Idol.
This new series from Sam Levinson, the creator of Euphoria and Assassination Nation is finally coming to our screens after some contested development and divisive early reviews, describing it as an “odyssey worthy of the Pornhub homepage”.

The official synopsis reads:After a nervous breakdown, Jocelyn is determined to reclaim her title as the most popular pop star. Tedros, nightclub owner and cult leader, rekindles the flame within her. However, this romance is dangerous for Jocelyn.“

The first episode of The Idol has been available for streaming since Monday, June 5.
