Procedure

Start the preparation of the Maritozzo by heating a spoonful of milk with the instant coffee in a saucepan, making sure it does not burn on the fire.

In another saucepan, pour the milk over low heat, dissolve the yeast and be careful not to boil the milk which will simply have to cool down to dissolve the yeast.

In the meantime, with the help of an electric mixer, whip the egg and when the milk has become cold again, add it and continue whipping. Add the sugar, the soluble coffee dissolved in the milk previously and continue to whisk the mixture.

Slowly start pouring the flour, taking care not to form lumps and finally let the mixture rest in the bowl covered with a cloth for about 20 minutes.

After the rest time of the dough, take it and spread it well floured and add the butter, a pinch of salt. Work vigorously until the ingredients are completely absorbed and let the dough rest for another 20 minutes.

After leavening, form many elongated loaves, for the size of the husks that you want to obtain and place them in the pan lined with baking paper for the last leavening, covered with cling film.

After the last leavening of about 20 minutes, remove the film and bake for about 25 minutes at 180 ° C. As soon as they are well cooked, take them out of the oven and wait for them to cool to fill them with the whipped cream and sprinkle them with instant coffee.
