WhatsApp rolled out its Chat Lock feature on May 15 with the aim of “keeping your messages private and secure.” Launching the site Metawith this feature the chat (chat) or group that you want to protect cannot be opened without permission.
A chat will later go into a file (folder) that can only be accessed using a personal password or biometrics such as fingerprints. This feature also makes protected chats not appear in notifications.
“We believe this feature will be great for people who share their phones with family members from time to time, or for those moments where someone holds your phone, right when a special chat comes in,” wrote WhatsApp.
