WhatsApp Web on the PC: How to install the messenger on the desktop
If you want to use WhatsApp Web on your PC, you have two options. Depending on which operating system you are using on your computer, you can use one of the following options.
- Option 1: All users of Windows 8 (or newer) and Mac OSX 10.9 (or newer) can use the official website of WhatsApp Download the WhatsApp Web application.
- Option 2: If you are not using one of the compatible operating systems, you can also avoid downloading the application. Instead, go directly to the website www.web.whatsapp.com on.
Use WhatsApp Web on your PC or Mac in three easy steps
- Start the WhatsApp Web applicationor open the website.
- There is now a QR-Code to see. Follow the instructions on the left and open the WhatsApp settings menu on your phone (three dots in the top right corner). Select “WhatsApp Web” there.
- Now you can scan the QR code on the desktop scan with your phone cameraThe smartphone must be connected to the Internet during the scan.
Shortly afterwards, the WhatsApp chat window opens on your PC. All of the usual functions of the messenger service are then also available on the desktop. For example, you can send or save pictures, videos or documents directly from your computer.
Important: Don’t forget to log out of WhatsApp Web after using it! Also, make sure your phone is connected to the charger, as battery consumption is relatively high when using the WhatsApp desktop version.

How to receive WhatsApp notifications on your PC
You can also activate notifications on WhatsApp Web so that you don’t miss any new messages. To do this, open the messenger on your computer and click on the “three-dot menu” to the right of the profile picture.
