WhatsApp‘s long-awaited multi device support is finally available. Multi-device support launched on smartphones running the Android operating system was activated in the normal version from the Beta program.
WhatsApp blocked 2 million accounts
Two new features came to WhatsApp
WHAT IS WHATSAPP MULTI-DEVICE SUPPORT?
WhatsApp allows users to message from the computer thanks to the WhatsApp Web service. But WhatsApp Web is the main applicationIt requires a constant internet connection since it matches the smartphone on which the software is installed. So it is not possible to use the Web without a connection on the device itself. Multi-device support has eliminated this requirement.
Thanks to WhatsApp multi-device users will still be able to connect the application to the computer. However, internet access on the main device will no longer be mandatory. In other words, even if you turn off your phone completely or disconnect the data connection, you will continue to use WhatsApp on the computer you have connected.
HOW TO USE WHATSAPP MULTI-DEVICE SUPPORT?
First, open the WhatsApp application on your phone and click the menu icon in the upper right corner. Then press the “Connected devices” button. If the multi-device feature has come to you, a window covering the middle of the screen will open automatically. You’ll see a notification asking if you want to participate in the testing process. If you wish, you can be a part of the process by confirming the transaction.
After you join the beta program, your existing WhatsApp Web sessions, if any, will be closed. You will need to enter the “Connected devices” section again, click the “Connect device” button and scan the QR code on the target device.
EXCEPTIONS ABOUT WHATSAPP MULTI-DEVICE SUPPORT
You can use WhatsApp Web normally after connecting. Even if your main phone is completely turned off or you do not have internet access, you will still receive messages and incoming calls. There is no problem at this point, but there are some exceptional cases announced by WhatsApp.
You can use WhatsApp on up to four secondary devices simultaneously, but you can only connect one phone at a time to your WhatsApp account.
You need to register your WhatsApp account and connect your new devices to your phone.
If you do not use your phone for more than 14 days, your connected devices will be disconnected.
In addition to all these, there are also features that the multi-device feature does not currently support:
Current location cannot be displayed on secondary devices.
Chats cannot be pinned on WhatsApp Web or Desktop.
Group invitations cannot be accepted, viewed, or reset on WhatsApp Web and Desktop. You need to use your phone to do these operations.
You cannot send messages or call from your connected device to people who have a very old version of WhatsApp installed on their phone.
You cannot search for connected devices that are not enrolled in the multi-device beta program from the portal device or WhatsApp Desktop.
Other WhatsApp accounts on your portal device are not available if they have not joined the multi-device beta program.
WhatsApp Business users cannot edit the business name and tags using WhatsApp Web or Desktop.
