How to Use WhatsApp Business on Your Desktop: A Step-By-Step Guide

Are you having more and more chats with your customers via WhatsApp Business? With just a few clicks you can continue this on the desktop.

The use of the messenger on the desktop is particularly interesting for users of WhatsApp Business. Because those who use the application for business purposes to communicate with their customers usually send more messages than private users. With a monitor and a keyboard, working with the messenger is more comfortable.

How to use WhatsApp Business with the desktop client

Like the web application, the WhatsApp desktop client for the PC can be used not only with the regular version of the messenger, but also with its business version. So there is no need to download a special WhatsApp Business application for the desktop.

Desktop system users with a recent version of Windows 10 or 11 can find the WhatsApp client in the Microsoft Store. After you have downloaded, installed and started it, you can connect to your account with the following steps:

  1. Launch WhatsApp Business on your smartphone.
  2. If you’re using an iPhone, tap Settings, then tap Linked Devices. On Android, you can find this option in the menu that you open via the three dots in the top right.
  3. Select “Add device” and authenticate when the app prompts you.
  4. Scan the QR code that WhatsApp Desktop shows you.

Once connected, you can continue chatting on your WhatsApp Business account from the desktop without needing physical access to your phone.

How to deregister unused devices

For security reasons, it is worth disconnecting systems that you no longer use. To do this, find the Linked Devices menu mentioned in Step 2 and tap the computer you want to remove. Select “Logout” to disconnect.

If you still have access to the desktop system that you want to log out of, you can also disconnect from your WhatsApp Business account from there.

To do this, click on the gear icon in WhatsApp Desktop to go to the settings. In the “General” area you will see the “Log out” button at the bottom.
