How does power saving mode affect performance?
Kaitlyn Cimino / Android Authority
In general, low power probably won’t change your daily use. You can still use all your favorite tools and apps. According to Apple, the power saving setting disables the following features:
- always on screen
- Irregular heart rate notifications
- High / low heart rate notifications
- Heart rate measurements in the background
- Basic blood oxygen measurements
- Exercise start reminder
Power Saver mode can also affect the speed of other functions, such as making a phone call or asking Siri questions. You may notice fewer updates to dial complexity and less smooth scrolling, although that wasn’t our experience. If your phone isn’t nearby, Power Saver mode also disables Wi-Fi and cellular connections, as well as incoming calls and notifications.
