KOMPAS.com – WhatsApp users can now link their accounts to use on two different devices.
WhatsApp has a Companion Mode feature that allows users to access the same WhatsApp account on two to four devices at once.
The way it works is similar to the way when you link your WhatsApp account to WhatsApp Web or desktop.
What’s different is, now you can use it in the WhatsApp application on mobile devices, both Android and iPhone, without the need to log out on the first cellphone.
On the secondary device, you can send and receive messages, pictures and videos, and make and receive WhatsApp voice and video calls.

This Companion Mode feature can be used for two Android phones, two iPhones, or a combination of iPhone and Android without the need to leave the WhatsApp account on the main cellphone.
The thing that makes this feature interesting is that, WhatsApp can work perfectly on your additional phone even without a SIM card.
Each linked phone will connect to WhatsApp independently. The goal is to have private messages, media, and calls end-to-end encrypted.
If your primary device is inactive for a sufficiently long period, the WhatsApp account on the other companion device will be signed out automatically.
