WhatsApp may be the most popular instant messaging service in the world, but Telegram is certainly the most innovative. When WhatsApp hit the market in 2009, it rocked the entire communications industry by becoming the first messaging app for most smartphone owners. While WhatsApp’s lead allowed the company to capture most of the market share, the company hasn’t innovated much since it was acquired by Facebook in 2016. It’s not that the company has stopped innovating entirely. Just recently, WhatsApp introduced many new features, including private group replies, picture-in-picture, WhatsApp Business, and restricted group.
It’s just that WhatsApp has been overtaken by companies like Telegram. Over the past year, Telegram rolled out a ton of exciting new features, including Telegram bots, the ability to play games in the app itself, and much more. It was recently leaked that the company may launch its own blockchain platform and cryptocurrency that, if true, will transform the entire messaging industry. While the introduction of the blockchain platform and cryptocurrency is still a rumor, the company has released a new update (v4.7) that offers a ton of user-requested functionality. My favorite of all is the new multiple accounts feature that allows users to run multiple accounts from a single Telegram app. In this article we will see how we can set up and use the feature for multiple accounts at Telegram:
Set up and use the feature for multiple accounts on Telegram
Telegram is very awesome in releasing the multi-account feature as something that many of us have been waiting for for years. Personally, I like to keep my work and personal contacts separate, and I couldn’t really do that due to the limitations of running a single app on a smartphone. I hate carrying two smartphones and was just waiting for a feature like this. If you are as excited about this feature as I am, So you can use the function for multiple accounts at Telegram:
2. Tap the “Add Account” button. Now, Enter your secondary number and click the check mark in the upper right corner.
3. Now wait until the phone detects your OTP or enter it manually. On the next page Enter your name and click the check mark button.
4. To switch between accounts, just tap the hamburger menu and select the account you want.
It’s that simple. At the moment, With Telegram you can use three different accounts at once. In addition, the function is currently only available for Android devicesso that iOS users cannot currently use this feature.
Use multiple telegram accounts
Telegram is one of the best instant messaging apps out there. With its end-to-end encryption, incredible group messaging service, support for bots and many other fantastic features, the app has captured the hearts of hundreds of millions of users around the world. With the app now also supporting multiple accounts, I believe the Telegram adoption rate will skyrocket. Personally, I prefer Telegram over other such messaging services and can’t wait to see what the company plans for the future.
