EAadhaar card is the basic document of a citizen in India. Aadhaar card is now used as an identification document for almost anything including the government. Aadhaar card must be updated if it has been 10 years. If you want to renew your Aadhaar card, you have to pay. But Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is allowing Aadhaar card update from March 15 to June 14, 2023 for free. After June 14, payment for renewal of Aadhaar card must be made.

This is an opportunity to update a person’s biometrics, address, email, phone number and other details. Those who have not updated their Aadhaar details for more than ten years can renew Aadhaar online at
Usually UIDAI charges a fee of Rs 50 but this is not required till June 14. It is important to note that the free service is available online only on the MyAadhaar portal. Cardholders will have to pay a fee of Rs 50 to update records at Aadhaar centres.

How to update:
- Open the official website of UIDAI
- Go to ‘My Aadhaar’ menu.
- Select the option ‘Update your Aadhaar’
- Click on ‘Update’ and select ‘Continue’
- Enter Aadhaar Card Number
- Perform captcha verification
- Enter the OTP
- Go to ‘Update Demographics Data’ option
- Select Details option to update
- Enter new details
- Upload the scanned copy of required documents
- Verify that the information entered is correct
- Validate with RunP
