Ford is starting to retail electric motors, the same ones that are serially installed in the Mustang Mach-E electric crossover. The aim is to make it possible to turn any ordinary car with an internal combustion engine into an electric car. As an example, Ford demonstrates a similarly redesigned classic F-100 pickup from 1978.
The engine, called the Eluminator e-crate motor, develops 281 hp. and 433 Nm of torque. It costs $ 3,900 or approximately BGN 6,800. It can be purchased at the Ford Performance Parts online store. There are sold various products for tuning and motor sports.
As in the case of the standard Mustang Mach-E crossover, electric motors can be installed on ordinary cars and in pairs, one on each axle so that the car is all-wheel drive. This is exactly what was done on an old Ford F-100 pickup. The system power of its power plant is 480 hp. The most powerful modification, the Mustang Mach-E GT, has almost the same power.

Retail electric motors are just the beginning. Ford plans to start trading all the other components needed to turn a conventional car into an electric one. Batteries, inverters, controllers, etc. will be added to the range.
