How to turn in an ad on Instagram?

It can make sense for entrepreneurs of all kinds to start a campaign on Instagram.

In addition to promoting a product or service, an advertisement offers the opportunity to follow more closely how people react to your product / service.

There are two ways to place an ad on Instagram. Either directly via Instagram or via the Facebook Ads Manager. Options are listed below.

Option 1: Directly through Instagram

  1. Coupling of the Instagram account with a Facebook page (mandatory)
    1. Settings -> Account Overview -> Add Account
    2. The coupling is also possible via Facebook:

  1. Call up the post on Instagram to be advertised
  2. Select “Highlight article”
  3. Then follow the instructions
    1. Choose goals (website visits, profile views or direct messages)
    2. Design target group (define regional, age, gender and interests)
    3. Determine the budget and duration
    4. Set means of payment
    5. Start the campaign

Option 2: Via the Facebook Ads Manager

  1. Coupling of the Instagram account with a Facebook page (mandatory)
    1. Settings -> Account Overview -> Add Account
    2. The coupling is also possible via Facebook:

  1. Go to Facebook page, then select Ad Center
  2. “Create advertisement”
  3. Choose a goal (“Apply Instagram post”)
  4. Select the post to be advertised
  5. Design target group (define regional, age, gender and interests)
  6. Define duration and budget
  7. Choose placements (Facebook, Instagram or both)
  8. Set payment method
  9. “Apply now”

If your ads are online, you can view all related information via the Facebook Ads Manager:

  • Insights, billing and other information can also be found in the Facebook Ads Manager (also ads that were placed directly via Instagram!)
