However, the biggest advantage is the default resolution of 24MP instead of the 12MP offered by Android OEMs. However, there is an option in the new iPhone models that allows users to take advantage of the new full resolution of 48MP to capture sharper and more detailed photos.
If you’re wondering how to take photos at full 48MP resolution, follow these steps:
Things to note:
– The image size will be relatively larger at 48MP, as it will be around 100MB per image, so, make sure not to take all the images at this resolution.
– There is a HEIF 48MP mode that compresses 48MP images into less than 5MB, but you may not want to take photos all the time in this format as there will be compatibility issues.
How to turn on 48MP mode on iPhone 15 series
– Open the Settings app on the iPhone 15 or iPhone 14 Pro models
– Go to the Camera option and choose the Formats option
– Now, enable the ProRAW option and control the resolution (this will be the only option for iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus)
– Here, choose HEIF on iPhone 14 Pro/ Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max or you also have the option to choose the ProRAW Max option
– Open the Camera app and check if you see HEIF Mac or RAW Max option inside the Camera app in the top right corner.
– If you see the option, just press the shutter button.
