The kidneys are finally quite unknown organs of our body. If they don’t make us suffer, we tend to forget them.
And yet, the kidneys can develop silent pathologies, that is to say without warning, no pain or particular symptoms.
Kidneys: beneficial and harmful foods
To take care of your kidneys, it is better to focus on foods containing potassium: bananas, potatoes, tomatoes, cereals, beans, nuts, etc. It is also recommended to reduce salt, sugar and very fatty or fried foods.
In addition, excess protein intake (meat, egg, fish) tires this organ and damages it. Also beware of high protein diets.
Some recommendations
It is advisable to drink enough water, ensuring that it is not too mineralized. Indeed, an excessive dose of minerals can tire our kidneys. Quitting smoking benefits the whole body, as does weight loss.
