Are nutritional supplements such as pre- and probiotics from jars and sachets a good quick fix or is it better to focus on the ingredients in the pan?
News reporter Sander Nieuwenhuizen goes to investigate. As a consumer in the supermarket and drugstore, he buys food for the intestines. A bag with thirty billion ‘good’ bacteria and butyrate in the form of a pill. Chef Jesse Stey’s healthy shopping list includes many fermented products and high-fiber ingredients such as endive and parsnip. How happy did it make him? Lara Billie Rense asks him.
