Wi-Fi and Bluetooth must be turned on in both devices
– Turn Personal Hotspot on or off on any of your devices if it is turned on
Make sure the email address the person uses for their Apple ID is saved in the other person’s Contacts.
Also, be sure to save their email addresses in your contacts.
– Make sure the device (the one sharing the password) is unlocked and connected to Wi-Fi.
– Keep the other person’s device close to you, within Bluetooth and Wi-Fi range.
Now follow these two easy steps to share your Wi-Fi password
Select the Wi-Fi network on the device you want to connect.
Now on your device, tap Share Password, then tap Done.
Note that the option will not appear unless and until the person’s email address is saved in your contacts, so this is not an “automatic” feature that will appear at any time or every time and it only works for a select group of people.
