The action button can be set to activate a variety of tools on the device. These customizable options include everything from starting a workout to opening the app. Here are all the original options for action button integration:

Perhaps most interestingly, third-party developers can also implement support for the action button. We’re still in the early stages, so many popular apps haven’t been used yet, but we expect many more favorite apps to add action button functionality in the coming months.
How to set up the action button
Setting up the action button is easy and can be done right on your device.
- Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch Ultra.
- Click the action button.
- Click the currently selected action to open the action button menu.
- Click the action you want to enable, for example Exercise.
- Tap the arrow in the top left corner to return to the action button settings.
- For some options, such as Workout, the Continue app menu will appear. Choose the application you want to use.
- Some actions do not produce a list of applications.
- If you have a third-party app that supports an action button, it will appear in this list when you select a workout.
- Tap the arrow in the top left corner to return to the action button settings.
- For some options, a “first print” menu will appear to continue. First tap Tap to access the Actions menu and tap the one you want to assign.
