“When you can’t connect directly to WhatsApp, you can connect through the application through a proxy server set up by volunteers and special organizations whose job is to help users communicate securely and freely,” WhatsApp said.
WhatsApp claims that using a proxy does not change the high level of privacy and security it provides to all users.
“Your private messages and calls will remain protected by end-to-end encryption. This means that your messages and calls are known only to you and the person you are communicating with and cannot be seen by anyone else, not even a proxy server, WhatsApp, or Meta,” they added.
