For an outsider, it’s hard to imagine how linear a cinematic universe can be when the title role has been played by seven actors over six decades … and counting. But do not get confused, nor fidget, nor stir: Order matters in the 007 canon. You cannot jump to Judi Dench without first acknowledging the presence of Bernard Lee. And if you’re not up to date, now is the time to join the Bond bandwagon before it opens this year. No time to die. A Bond binge will not only give you access to one of the greatest action franchises in history, but it will also give you your say on fandom debates, like who the next Bond should be. In fact, the last to ring for the position is the star of The Bridgertons, Regé-Jean Page.
So shake and pour that Martini and put your license to chill into practice using the canon: from Agent 007 vs. Dr. No from 1962 to Spectre of 2015.
* Note: We have included some non-traditional selections, such as the 1954 Live TV episode, Casino RoyaleBut if you’re a purist (or a sniper on a mission), feel free to skip the asterisk titles.
