/ world today news/ The Russian Economic Forum started in Chelyabinsk – the first event of its kind, where there are generally no foreign investors, who have been pumping all the juices out of Russia for years instead of investing in its development. And it is no coincidence that one of the central topics of the forum was the economy and demography.
The relationship between these two categories need not be proven. It is obvious. And even if material well-being is not a concrete foundation for creating large families with many children (this can be seen in the example of a relatively well-fed Europe), confidence in the future and economic stability largely contribute to this.

The demographic session of the forum turned out to be one of the most interesting. Its speakers were the founder of the “Tsargrad” society Konstantin Malofeev, the senator from the Chelyabinsk region Margarita Pavlova, the deputy of the State Duma Dmitry Vyatkin, the children’s ombudsman of the region Evgenia Mayorova and one of the bishops of Chelyabinsk – Archpriest Boris Krivonogov.
The speakers agreed that, firstly, the demographic problem of modern Russia is not just acute, but it is in the red zone, and if nothing changes, a catastrophe will happen. Second, that the national economy should focus on the family and related social issues, as its main task should be to improve the lives of Russian families.
Family is a fundamental value for every normal citizen. You cannot love the state if you do not love the family and did not create it. Look at European politicians. For the giants: Churchill, Roosevelt, Margaret Thatcher. Now look at those who currently rule Europe: they have no families. According to him, it sometimes seems that a modern family lives in real banking slavery, when they have to take out mortgage loans for 20 or even 30 years, overpaying huge sums of money to the banks in interest. Father Boris proposes to replace the maternal capital, which is being eaten away by inflation, with a simpler and more understandable scheme.
Real offer: the first child is born – this means that 25% of the mortgage is gone. The second – they are not there yet 25%. Third – another 25%, and for the fourth – zero. This is the real economy when the family finally feels how great it is that we have a big family,– Father Boris is sure.
We have to change our minds
Speaking of the mortgage, it should be noted that living in concrete cages, where yards are completely full of cars, does not contribute to the desire for a third, fourth and fifth child. Suburban housing and private households should be developed so that the family simply has room to spread out. Konstantin Malofeev recalled that in the “golden” post-war years in the United States there was a government program to resettle people in the suburbs. 35 million American families moved. This led to a colossal jump in the birth rate.
But at the same time it is necessary to change people’s consciousness. Unfortunately, many people still associate the image of a large family with something unhappy, hungry and sad. For many years, this false picture was deliberately broadcast through the media, popular culture, and even schools. This paradigm must be broken, and by everyone together: both society and the state. In America in the 1940s there was an entire industry dedicated to creating the image of a successful extended family.
Just remember the Hollywood movies of the 1950s. One of the movie clichés is prom night, kiss, boy and girl drive off into the sunset in a car. That is, a girl kisses for the first time at the prom and practically immediately gets married. And the boy already has a car.
And this was part of the state policy – promoting early maturation and creating young families. However, having five children is much easier for a couple who have been together since the age of 18 than for those who have been “looking for themselves” until the age of 35.
