How to Reset Your Apple Watch: A Step-by-Step Guide

There are times when your Apple Watch can run into issues due to some bugs, and there could be any issue with the watch, but there is one common solution to all of them – reset.

While resetting the Apple Watch or any other device is usually considered the last resort before taking the device to the Apple Store, it can fix the problem with your watch.

Here’s how to reset your Apple Watch

It is important to note that resetting the Apple Watch will remove all data from the device.

If there is any important data or information on your Apple Watch, back it up before performing the reset.

Connect your Apple Watch to a charger and then follow these mentioned steps:

Press and hold the Side button until you see the Power button in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Press and hold the Digital Crown until you erase all content and settings.

Tap Reset and then tap Reset again to confirm.

Wait for the process to finish.

You will now be asked to set up your Apple Watch. You can set it up as a new one or restore from a backup.

How to reset the Apple Watch using the paired iPhone

Keep your Apple Watch and iPhone closed.

Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, then tap the My Watch tab.

Click General Reset.

Tap Erase Apple Watch content and settings, then tap it again at the bottom of the screen to confirm.

You may need to enter your Apple ID password.

For Apple Watch models with GPS + Cellular, choose to keep or remove your cellular plan:

If you want to pair your Apple Watch and iPhone again, keep your plan.

If you don’t want to pair your Apple Watch and iPhone again, remove your plan.

If you don’t want to pair with a different watch or iPhone, you may need to contact your carrier to cancel your subscription.

Wait for the process to finish, then set up your Apple Watch again.

When prompted, restore from a backup.
