Report the cancellation, interruption or extension to your travel provider and your travel cancellation insurance immediately if you have also insured the cancellation of the trip. The travel provider often takes care of an early departure.
Have your travel provider, service providers such as hotels, excursion agencies and transport companies (on site) confirm the services you have booked but not used.
If you are ill, you need a certificate from the doctor or hospital treating you on site. If you have to extend your stay, for example because you are unable to travel due to illness, your insurance company will need proof of the additional accommodation costs and additional costs for the delayed return journey.
This is to be arranged after the trip:
Abbruchdatum Inform the insurance company of the exact date on which the trip was canceled (date of the return trip).
Reiseleistungen. Evidence of the travel services not used, such as invoices for booked excursions or tickets for events.
Early or late departure. If you had to depart earlier or later than planned, provide evidence of the additional costs for rebooking or rebooking the return flights. If your travel provider reimburses you for unused services on a pro rata basis, you must notify the insurance company of this.
Involuntary Extension. If you had to involuntarily extend your trip because of an insured event, you need proof of the additional costs incurred for board and lodging.
Nachweis. Proof of the insured event is also required, such as a certificate from the doctor treating you at the holiday destination with the onset and diagnosis of an illness.
