Do you live in an apartment building and would like to reduce heating costs? It’s not as bad a problem as it might seem. Older types of doors that have minimal sealing are often responsible for heat loss. In this case, two options are offered, one expensive and the other literally for a few crowns.
Sealing tape
Or you can buy a new door with a quality seal. This option is effective and long-term, but also quite expensive. If you need to postpone this investment, you can fix the situation with sealing tape. This will reduce the air permeability several times. It only costs a few tens of crowns and just glue it to the edge of the door. Thanks to this, the thermal bridges through which the heat escapes will be interrupted.
Hinge
Other tricks for reducing heat loss include buying a tent. You simply hang it behind the front door and you will also reduce heat loss. When you choose the right style, it can also serve as a decoration.
Replacement of window seals
Windows are another cause of heat loss. It is not expensive to replace an old faulty seal with a new one. You can tell if there is heat loss and where the problem is with a burning candle. At the point where the candle flame will tremble the most, the greatest loss occurs.
The second option is to replace the old windows with new ones. As far as minimizing heat loss is concerned, windows with insulating, or even triple, double glazing will be the most suitable. Shading technology, such as shutters or exterior blinds, also helps.
Isolation
There are far fewer insulation options in an apartment building than in a family home. It is important to insulate some walls with drywall, for example, or you can use cork. On a tight budget, you can buy polystyrene boards that are easy to glue and that abundantly meet expectations. They are fragile, but you can glue them directly to the painting.
