In the Metropolis of Dijon, the collection of trees began on Sunday January 3, 2021. You just need to find the date for your town and drop off your tree at the scheduled time for it to be collected. It will then be crushed and transformed into compost in the compost bin of Rougemont in Bretigny. This is also what will happen to the 361 fir trees that make up the 18-meter structure at Place de la Liberation in Dijon. Its dismantling will begin on Monday, January 4 with the removal of the decorations, then a basket will arrive on Wednesday for further operations.
Last year, 86 tons of fir trees were composted in the Metropolis.
By feeding it … to goats!
Another solution to recycle your tree is to feed it to goats. This is what the Breuil farm offers, for example, in Fénay, south of Dijon. You can drop off your Christmas tree from January 6th, Paillettes and Pauline, the two goats, will take care of butchering them.
