Here’s how to record and send video messages via the new feature on the WhatsApp platform.
Jakarta: Some time ago, WhatsApp introduced a new feature that allows users to record and share short video messages directly in conversations on the instant messaging platform.
In uploads on the blog, Meta mentions that video messages can be recorded directly in response to chats with a maximum duration of 60 seconds. The post provides examples of using this feature to wish a happy birthday or laugh at a joke. Take the following steps to take advantage of this video messaging feature.
1. Open the WhatsApp application
2. Open the chat containing the message you want to respond with a video message, or create a conversation with another user you want to send a video message to
3. Tap the microphone icon next to the text message field once until the icon changes to a camcorder icon
4. Tap the button with the camcorder icon on it, and hold it while the recording is in progress
5. You can also swipe the camcorder icon button upwards after tapping it to activate the lock function so you can record without the need to keep pressing the button
6. The video will start recording after the countdown function one to three is automatically active after the button is pressed
7. To finish recording the video, you can release the button or swipe downwards when using the lock function
Not only does it complete the video recording process, releasing the recording button also automatically sends the video message. If using the keypad lock function, swiping the lock icon downwards will stop the recording process and bring up the send message icon.
Press the button to send the video message. Apart from being only a maximum of one minute or 60 seconds long, WhatsApp also announced that this video message is supported by end-to-end encryption, which is claimed to guarantee the security and confidentiality of the message. Good luck!
