How to Activate an Inactive Telkomsel Card
Users of Telkomsel Prepaid cards that have been forfeited and can no longer be used have the option to reactivate them. There are three ways that Telkomsel customers can use to reactivate a card that has been forfeited. This method includes using the UMB code *888*89#, Telkomsel E-Care via Twitter and Instagram, and via the Call Center. For this process, you need to prepare your Resident Identity Card (KTP), Family Card (KK), and physical SIM card.
The following is a complete guide on how to reactivate a Telkomsel card that has been forfeited:
Activate via UMB code *888*89#: Prepare documents such as Resident Identity Card (KTP) and Family Card (KK). Type the UMB code *888*89# on your phone. Select the option “Reactivate card.” Agree to the existing provisions. Enter your KTP and KK number. You will receive an SMS notification regarding your card activation status.
Activate via Telkomsel E-Care:
Prepare your KTP, KK and physical SIM card. Contact Telkomsel customer service via Direct Message (DM) Twitter or Instagram by typing “prepaid reactivation.” You will receive a link to upload a photo of your KTP, KK number and photo of the physical SIM card that will be activated. Next, you will undergo a video call to validate the data.
Activate via Call Center:
You can activate a forfeited card by calling the Telkomsel Call Center on 0807 1811 811.
For the record, if the Telkomsel card’s active period expires, the card will enter a grace period of 30 days. If within 30 days you do not top up credit or data, the card will be considered forfeited. After the 85 day grace period ends, the card will enter the “Ready for Recycle” period. Therefore, you still have 85 days after the grace period ends to reactivate your expired Telkomsel card. Further information can be found on the official Telkomsel website. I hope this information is helpful.
