KOMPAS.com – For you mobile card users Telkomselthere is a way to reactivate a burned cell phone number.
Burned numbers can be caused by users who don’t top up credit for a long time or have passed the grace period. When these two things happen, the phone number becomes forfeited or no longer active, which means it can’t be used.
However Telkomsel provide convenience for customers who want to re-activate numbers that have been scorched. This can be done for Telkomsel prepaid card users.

There are three how to activate a burned Telkomsel number. The three are:
- Accessing UMB code,
- Visiting GraPARI outlets, or
- Conduct online consultations via telephone or Telkomsel’s official Twitter account with handle @telkomsel.
However, please note that after the Telkomsel card is reactivated, the remaining credit, points, and other bonuses previously contained on the card cannot be used again.
Customers will also be asked to enter information on their National Identity Number (NIK) KTP and Family Card (KK) before being able to reuse the number they want to activate.
According to Telkomsel’s Sales Director, Adiwinahyu Basuki Sigit, the presence of this service is still relatively new. Because previously, customers who wanted to reactivate their Telkomsel prepaid card could only do so during the grace period.
If the grace period has passed or has already expired, the Telkomsel prepaid card can no longer be reactivated, or you have to wait several months.

“Bringing easy access to self-service UMB *888*89# for the reactivation of Telkomsel Prepaid numbers is our effort to always understand and get closer to the condition of the customer,” said Sigit in an official statement from Telkomsel.
Before re-activating a Telkomsel number that has been burned, users need to know a number of certain requirements, which are as follows:
Telkomsel card activation requirements are forfeited
Users only have 60 days to reactivate the card, starting from the last day of the Telkomsel number’s grace period. If this time exceeds, the customer will no longer be able to reactivate their prepaid Telkomsel card.
Prepare the KTP (NIK), Family Card (KK), and physical SIM card that you want to reactivate.
- Prepare documents such as KTP, KK, and Telkomsel prime cards
- Make sure that a deactivated SIM card is inserted in the phone
- Next, press UMB *888*89# on your cellphone
- Select menu 1 “Reactivate card”
- Select menu 1 “Agree” if you agree to the applicable terms and conditions
- Enter the ID number (NIK) and Family Card in the column provided
- Then wait until you receive an SMS notification stating whether the Telkomsel number can be reactivated or not

In addition to using the UMB code method, you can reactivate a Telkomsel card that has been forfeited by visiting the nearest GraPARI outlet in your city.
It is enough to bring a number of documents such as an ID card, Family Card, and a physical SIM card that you want to reactivate.
Consultation via telephone or online
Then, the third way, customers can do online consultations via direct message (DM) on Telkomsel’s Twitter account (@telkomsel), or call Telkomsel’s call center at 0807 1811 811.
