Purchasing an Apple headset turned out to be not so easy. In Russia this process will be even more difficult, and here’s why.
Po data Medium, Apple has started sending out instructions to users that describe how to purchase the Apple Vision Pro helmet. It turns out that clicking the “buy” button is not enough.
To order Apple Vision Pro online, the user will need an iPhone with Face ID support – iPhone X and later models. Using a scanner, a person will need to have their entire head scanned to select the appropriate helmet size.
You can place your order in the Apple Store app. It already has support for head scanning with an iPhone. Also, the buyer must attach a prescription from an ophthalmologist before purchasing so that Apple can fit a helmet with lenses customized for you.
If the user wants to purchase Apple Vision Pro offline, then there is no need to scan the head. All you have to do is come to the store and the consultants will select the right size headset for you.
In Russia, there may be problems with personalized selection of Apple Vision Pro. Apple is not officially represented in our country, and all the company’s products are imported through parallel imports. And they don’t bring everything – only the most popular goods in the most popular configurations. For example, domestic stores are full of MacBook Pros with M3 chips in the 8 GB + 1 TB configuration, but the maximum versions with 2 TB of memory are already a rarity.
Most likely, the same thing will happen with Apple Vision Pro in Russia. Only the most popular sizes and zero diopters will be delivered. People with “unpopular” head sizes or vision conditions may have to purchase a custom-made headset from abroad.
Let us remind you that sales of Apple Vision Pro will start on February 2. Pre-orders will be available on January 19th. The cost of the version with 256 GB of memory will be $3,499.
