Prices in the market for new and used car parts are rising, which affects the pocket of drivers. And some details don’t need an accident on the road to become unusable. Over the years, the chrome elements wear out and the headlights darken, regardless of how the car is used. Therefore, ways to preserve these elements must be sought. One of them is the use of paraffin, from which the candles are made.

The weather outside is warming up and many drivers encounter a classic spring problem – the radiator grille and headlights are full of fuzzy insects that form a thick layer after only a few days. It can be removed at a car wash using a special detergent or with a rag if the driver’s hands reach it.

However, these two options are not recommended, because the chemistry from the car wash will cause the chrome to peel off, and the rag will make scratches that will eventually lead to replacing the part. And as already mentioned, these spare parts are becoming more and more expensive, and their delivery times, if you want them to be original, are increasing.

There is also an easier way – to cover the headlights, bumper, grill and plastic details of rear-view mirrors with ordinary paraffin. You don’t even need to light the candle, it is enough to rub the corresponding details with it, which should then be polished with a soft cloth. As a result, a thin protective layer is formed on the surface, which will repel dirt, and then it can be removed along with all the insects during the first high-pressure wash.

The operation itself is easy and quick, and the candles are easy to find, so the paraffin can be used for other things. For example, for the door locks, which from time to time start to creak. It is not necessary to disassemble anything, just apply a thick layer of wax to the plastic and then open and close the door several times. It will work much better, softer and most importantly – without extraneous sounds.

Paraffin has many uses in the car, the point of using it is that it is much easier and cheaper to keep what you already have than to go around looking for a replacement that costs money.
