Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – WhatsApp has a contact block feature if the user does not want to receive certain messages from someone. But it turns out that there is another way to avoid getting the unwanted chat.
WhatsApp has an archive feature. So making chat contacts can be archived and muted. This feature can also be activated as desired.
This way chats from certain users can be muted, even if there are new messages. All chats will still be archived and stored permanently.
Users will not get any notification or notification when there is a new message. Unless the username is mentioned and the message is replied to.
“Archive on WhatsApp allows you to manage private messages and prioritize important chats. Archived Chats will still be archived and muted but you can still change them back,” WhatsApp wrote on its Twitter account.
This new feature is different from the previous capabilities. Individual and group archived chat threads will be canceled when a new message arrives at the user’s account.
According to the company, this feature aims to give users more control over incoming contacts. To activate it, users can enter the Keep Chat Archived option in the Chats menu.
