How to prevent iPhone 13 Pro from automatically switching to macro mode

The iPhone 13 Pro’s camera has an ultra-wide-angle camera capable of taking highly detailed macro photos.

The new iPhone 13 has been available for two weeks and, slowly, the first tips and tricks are starting to hit the web. We explained to you in particular how Styles work, a big novelty of the iPhone 13.

This week, we are looking at the macro mode, greatly emphasized by Apple during the presentation of its iPhone 13. This mode allows you to take photos of infinitely small objects while maintaining high photo quality and amount of detail. . This is the first time that Apple has integrated a mode of this type on its iPhone, and we must admit that its use is rather strange. Indeed, when you want to take a photo of an object close to the lens, the iPhone detects that it is very close and automatically switches to macro mode. A change (a priori) forced, but which can be impractical in certain situations.

We could then believe that Apple has introduced a function to switch as we wish from one camera to another, to favor the ultra-wide angle camera or the normal camera depending on the situation. This is not the case, however, since the user is forced to keep the camera in macro mode. Fortunately, a few smart people on the web have found the solution.

Indeed, it would seem that all you have to do is hide the ultra-wide angle lens with your finger. And the trick works, since we have tried it ourselves! If you don’t know which one it is, here it is.

Automatically, the iPhone will notice that the lens is hidden and will understand that it must use another sensor to take the photo.

Apple has already reassured iPhone 13 Pro users by indicating that its developers were already working on an update allowing you to switch as much as you want between macro mode and normal mode.
