Boat or plane?
You have chosen Corsica for your next vacation, now it’s time to organize your stay. Starting with transport.
To reach the island, two solutions are possible: the plane, to Bastia, Ajaccio, Figari or Calvi, the four airports accessible on site. Having the advantage of being able to travel quickly, the plane does however involve hiring a car on site, Corsica being difficult to discover without a vehicle.
Also forget this option if you want to stay in a campsite, a type of accommodation that is not very compatible with the limitation of the luggage necessary for traveling by plane!
Another option: the boat. The island has five main ports: Bastia, Ajaccio, Porto Vecchio, Ile Rousse and Bonifacio.
The departure can be taken from Nice, Marseille or Toulon, for daytime crossings, or night crossings, for which the arrival is around 7 am, after a night spent on board, in the cabin.
In times of high traffic, booking your crossing, which must also include a place for your vehicle, can prove to be complicated, in the event of tight schedules or dates.
