I love WhatsApp’s status feature. It allows me to share some interesting snippets from my day with my WhatsApp family. With the ability to share videos, images, text, and GIFs, this Snapchat-like feature helps break the monotony.
It’s wonderful, but when sharing videos, I find the 30-second limit a bit of a shame. So I can either be overly creative and create 30 second clips that define my status for the day, or use this nifty little hack that allows me to post longer videos as my WhatsApp status.
Yes, it requires some third party applications. However, these apps are available for free. So, are you interested in knowing how to post WhatsApp status videos longer than 30 seconds?

There are two easy ways
To bypass WhatsApp’s 30-second status limit, there are two simple hacks. The first is to create multiple 30-second clips from a longer video and post them on WhatsApp, while the second trick is to turn the video into a GIF image.
Since there is no limit to how long a GIF image can be, you are free to post anything. This way, you can easily post videos longer than 30 seconds as your WhatsApp status.
1. Create files with WhatsCut Pro+
WhatsCut Pro+ is a free app on the Play Store. It allows users to create smaller 30 second video clips from a longer video without user intervention and that’s the best part.
This way you can post multiple such smaller clips like your WhatsApp status and share the whole story and not just a glimpse of it.
Note:
Step 1: Download and install the WhatsCut Pro+ app from the Play Store. Once done, open the app.
step 2: The home screen takes you straight to the video library on your phone. From there, select the video that you want to post as your WhatsApp status. You can choose to insert the whole video or just a part of it. When you’re done, tap the green arrow button.
step 3: The app will now process the video and break it up into smaller pieces. Once the processing is complete, your WhatsApp status window will open automatically. Here you can choose to post it publicly as your status or share it privately with one of your contacts.

2. Create a GIF image with GIFShop
By making several smaller videos, you can easily solve this problem. However, it will upload multiple files and if you don’t like that, then this method is for you.
You can create a GIF image and easily add files longer than a minute even as images have no time limit. To do this, you can use any free GIF maker utility. Here we used GIFShop.
Note:
Step 1: Download the app from Play Store and install it on your phone. When you’re done, open it and go to the next step.
step 2: The splash screen or home screen will show you several options. Among them, select Videos -> GIF option. The app will then take you to your video library. Here select the video you want to post on WhatsApp as your status.
step 3: The app then processes your video and creates a GIF image from it. The following screen shows you the export settings. Ideally, they work best for pictures. If you still want to change some things, feel free to do so.
Press CONFIRM and the app will create a single GIF file from your video. Use it now and post as your WhatsApp status private or public status.

Use it wisely
With great power comes great responsibility! Well, you don’t get any magic power here. However, you should understand that the 30-second limit was set for a reason.
Most users have a short attention span and the shorter the status, the happier the person who sees it. Keep that in mind and then create longer WhatsApp status videos keeping an eye on your WhatsApp family.
