So we explain you step by step depending on whether you have an Android cell phone or an iPhone with iOS.
Change number from Android phone
To change Android phone number from WhatsApp, follow these steps:
- First insert the SIM card of your new number into the device
- Opens WhatsApp
- Verify that your “old phone number” is currently linked to WhatsApp, you can see the number you verified in WhatsApp if you open “WhatsApp” as follows. > More options (icon in the upper right corner of the 3 vertical dots)> Settings and click on your profile photo.
- Go to WhatsApp> More options> Settings> Account> Change number.
- Now you will enter your “old phone number” in the first box.
- Enter your “new phone number” in the second box.
- Select NEXT, if you activate the option to “Notify my contacts”, you will be able to choose between notifying “All contacts”, “Contacts with whom I have a chat” or “Personalize”. In case you select “Personalize”, you will have the option to search or select the contacts you wish to notify> select the white tick on a green background at the end of the section.
- Select “Ok”.
- And finally, verify your new phone number.
How to change WhatsApp number from a phone on iOS
To change your phone number from WhatsApp On a cell phone with iOS, follow these steps:
- Open WhatsApp, click on “Settings” (gear icon)> “Account” (key icon)> Change number> “Next”.
- Later you must enter your old number in full international format in the first box.
- Enter the new number in full international format in the second box.
- Select “Next”. If you activate the option to “Notify my contacts”, you will be able to choose between notifying “All contacts”, “Contacts with whom I have a chat” or “Personalize”. Select “Personalize”, you will have the option to search or select the contacts you want to notify> press “Ok”.
- Select “Yes” to confirm that your phone number is correct.
- Verify your new phone number to complete the process and you’re done.
